Yoga for Scoliosis: Day 10

Even with the best intentions, sometimes plans don’t go as expected. Yesterday I promised myself that I’d do a long, relaxing yoga video in my living room in the cool air conditioning, but a normal Friday shift turned into an 11-hour shift and I was more than exhausted once I finally got back to my house. I zoned out and scrolled through Twitter until Mark got home, and then I actually peeled myself off the couch to go to the gym. SO — tonight’s yoga practice was another gym one.

30 Day Yoga Challenge: Day Ten

doing yoga at the gym

Since I was at the gym, I added some extra squats and crunches and leg lefts between my poses. Working such a long day on my feet, I made sure to really focus on my hip flexors, too. Pigeon pose was a champ tonight, as well as plenty of seated forward folds. Doing yoga at the gym definitely is a practice for staying mentally focused instead of self-conscious about the people around me.

Other Notes:

  • Ready for the weekend!
  • I taught dance for three years, so as I started stretching, I kind of just fell into my normal routine that I lead for stretch at the beginning of every class. It felt great.

Namaste and see you tomorrow!

Disclaimer: I am so so so so so not even close to being a medical professional and the same goes for being a professional yoga instructor. All I’m doing is journaling my personal experiences regarding my physical health and my yoga practice, please do not follow any of this instead of going to a physician yourself. I do not believe YouTube is a substitution for true medical care, but can be a supplement to what you and your doctor decide what’s best for you!
